Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci founded Archirivolto as an industrial planning, design and architecture studio. While studying architecture in Florence, Claudio and Marco put together an experimental theatre group with several friends. As they went forth, they focused their joint efforts on design, and their involvement in theatre played a decisive role in the way the new studio was run, placing the emphasis on creativity, sense of reality and deep respect and dedication to the audience.
Archirivolto sees design as beauty, harmony and freedom, something which cannot be bound by restrictive pre-set rules, nor should design be the sole privilege of a social or cultural elite. Designers are morally bound to create beauty for everyone and to make design accessible to an ever-increasing number of people. One of the studio’s main activities is conducting research on new materials and processes so that the highest quality can be achieved at the lowest cost. Archirivolto is located in Colle Val d’Elsa in the heart of Tuscany, a land from which they draw inspiration each and every day.
